THE WEST COASTAssociated with the Adjudiciary since 2004 and appointed President in 2021. Principal interests include culture, public standards and the preservation of serious discussion around topical issues. Away from the WCFA: private pottery, rose-tending and coastal walking.
Joined Council in 2017 and has served as Chair since 2023. Also Technical Lead at ICI, with particular responsibility for process reliability and controlled organisational change. Interests include projection standards, transport infrastructure and European crime fiction.
Oversees the annual awards programme and constitution of adjudication panels. Has worked across arts administration, exhibition and cultural programming for more than twenty years. Enjoys contemporary dance, Scandinavian design and wild swimming.
Council Secretary since 2012, responsible for minutes, records, circulation and formal correspondence. Previously worked in higher education administration. Collects handmade antique model boats and has recently begun cataloguing and exhibiting them from home.
Joined the Adjudiciary in 2019 following a career in accountancy and charitable finance. Oversees subscriptions, panel expenditure and retail activity. Keen hillwalker; maintains that most unnecessary postage can be avoided with adequate planning.
Has worked in film education and assessment for more than seven years. Interests include consistency in evaluation, technical competence and the language by which quality is described. Sings second alto in a community choir and keeps bees.
Has served on WCFA panels since 2008 and became Convenor in 2016. Contributed to guidance concerning completion, audibility and technical sufficiency. Lives in Glasgow and remains interested in the practical conditions under which films can be properly judged.
Has worked in finance, development and independent production for more than forty years. Brings an external industry perspective to Council and remains committed to encouraging new voices. Divides his time between Edinburgh and London and has known a surprising number of people personally.
